Our mission has been to protect and serve the citizens of our county through innovative hard work and community partnerships. We are responsible for over 1,300 square miles and serve a population of approximately 40,000 at the peak of our season. Our jurisdiction ranges from the base of the beautiful Wolf Creek Mountain to the equally beautiful valley of Bayfield, from the Weminuche Wilderness to the New Mexico state line.

We are proud of the service we deliver. We also recognize we need feedback to insure our services remain the best in the country.
