NOTE: If you received a letter fro the Archuleta County
Sheriff's Office regarding renewal of permits issued prior to May 17, 2003, you
do not need to show proof of training unless your letter says you do.
Within 120 days prior to expiration and before 180 days
past expiration:
If issued after May 17, 2003
CRS 18-12-211
Renewal fee (see standard fees,
below), standard application form and must meet criteria in 18-12-203 (1)a to
(1)g. (See application form.) Term: Five (5) years.
If issued prior to May 17, 2003: CRS 18-12-216
If fingerprints/background check
was performed: standard renewal fees apply, submit standard application form and
meet criteria in 18-12-203 (1)a to (1)g (proof of training not required). (See
application form). Term: Five (5) years. If no fingerprint/background
check performed for current permit: procedures for a new permit must be
followed. Application, current fees, fingerprint/background check, proof of
training. Term: Five (5) years.
Expired more than 180 Days:
Must reapply under the 2003
legislation: Standard application, background/fingerprint check, proof of
training. The fees for new permits apply. CRS 18-12-211 (1)
New permit:
- Standard application form,
standard fees, proof of training, fingerprint/background check. CRS 18-12-205.
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Term: Five (5) years.
Current fees (10/2005):
- New application: $50 to the AC
Sheriff’s Department.
- Background/fingerprint: $52.50
“certified check” to the State of Colorado.
- Renewal: $15 to the AC Sheriff’s
Department.
